Akron Municipal Court Judge David Hamilton has been named to the Greater Akron Chamber’s “30 For The Future” Class for 2020.
Judge Hamilton is one of thirty area men and women selected based on professional accomplishments and community involvement. Judge Hamilton was nominated for this honor by fellow Akron Municipal Court Judge Ron Cable.
“I have known Judge Hamilton for many years and he is an innate leader. I am grateful to call him a friend,” said Judge Cable. “He is very passionate about being a Judge and his positive leadership has already impacted our jurisdiction.”
Judge David Hamilton was born and raised in Akron. He is a graduate of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) and received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology as well as minors in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Akron. Judge Hamilton earned his Juris Doctorate at the Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.
“I love Akron and I am proud to serve my community as a Judge. Being named to ’30 For The Future’ is very exciting,” said Judge Hamilton. “Throughout my career, I have always wanted to make Akron a safer community and assist those who are ready for help. I am proud to receive this recognition.”
Judge Hamilton was elected to the bench in 2019.
The Akron Municipal Court has three additional leaders who have been named to “30 For The Future” in prior years: Judge Jon Oldham (2012), Magistrate Jennifer Towell (2013) and Community Outreach and Grants Coordinator Nicole Hagy (2019).
All thirty award recipients will be honored during an upcoming virtual celebration.
