Restitution

When the victim of a crime suffers a financial setback as a direct result of the crime the court may order the defendant to pay restitution. Restitution is a court-ordered payment, from the defendant to the victim of the crime, for the reimbursement of financial loss incurred as a result of the crime.

Restitution is handled through the Akron Municipal Court Probation Office.
