The Akron Municipal Court Invites Community Stakeholders, Public to Resource Center Open House

The Judges of the Akron Municipal Court and the Akron Municipal Court Housing Program staff invite community stakeholders and members of the public to their Resource Center Open House taking place at their courthouse on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

In November 2023, the Akron Municipal Court relocated from their previous space in the Harold K. Stubbs Justice Center where they had been housed since 1966. The current courthouse is located at 172 S. Broadway St. in Akron. The Resource Center, which is located on the second floor, was included when designing the new space.

Location: Akron Municipal Courthouse (172 S. Broadway St.) in Downtown Akron.

The Akron Municipal Court Housing Program formally launched in Fall 2023. Judges Ron Cable and Nicole Walker are the two Judges who lead these efforts.

Staff will host a short program and a tour of the Resource Center will follow. Attendees will learn about the Resource Center, housing support, mediation and community resources.

Lunch will be provided.

RSVPs are requested. Those wishing to attend are asked either call Housing Specialist Vyrone Finney at (330) 375-2985, Court Navigator Tara Mosley at (330) 375-2132 or email AkronMuniHousing@akronohio.gov on or before September 20, 2024 to ensure there is enough space to accommodate all.

Guests should enter the main entrance of the building at 172 S. Broadway St. upon arrival. A map of Downtown Akron parking garages, decks and surface lots is available through Downtown Akron Partnership.

The six Akron Municipal Court Judges are: Administrative/Presiding Judge Annalisa S. Williams, Judge Jerry Larson, Judge Jon Oldham, Judge Ron Cable, Judge Nicole Walker and Judge David Hamilton.
