Ashton Prinzo Joins Akron Municipal Court As Judge Ron Cable’s RISE Court Coordinator
07/14/2023

Ashton Prinzo has joined Akron Municipal Court Judge Ron Cable’s staff as his Restore Individual Self-Empowerment (RISE) Court Coordinator.

RISE Court, which was created by Judge Cable, identifies human trafficking survivors and leads them as they create a new, positive life path. Ohio law provides for expungement for victims of human trafficking.

Michaela Yerse, who had served in this role since January 2020, relocated out-of-state and her departure created a vacancy.

Ashton Prinzo was previously employed by the Barberton Municipal Court’s Clerk of Courts Office.

“Ashton is a hard worker and her passion for helping individuals as they work through trauma is very inspiring,” said Judge Cable. “The RISE participants have already responded very well to her compassionate and caring nature.”

Through the Akron Municipal Court's partnerships with outside agencies, RISE provides services such as trauma therapy, drug rehabilitation, housing, vocational sessions and other community support.

Twenty-four individuals are currently enrolled in RISE.

Ashton is a graduate of Walsh University where she double majored in Clinical Psychology and Criminal Justice Sociology.
