Akron Municipal Court Announces Food Distribution Event for Those in Need
05/17/2022
On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the Akron Municipal Court will be distributing 100 free lunches to those in need.
This is intended to serve a meal to homeless and the less fortunate. Lunches will begin being distributed at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Harold K. Stubbs Justice Center located at 217 S. High St. in Downtown Akron. The lunches will be pre-assembled and are limited to the first 100 people in line. Those handing out food will remain in front of the courthouse until all 100 lunches have been distributed.
The Maynard Family Foundation is a key donor in this endeavor. J&K Subway has agreed to donate 100 sandwiches, Hartville Potato Chips will donate individual bags of chips and the Buehler’s Portage Lakes location has agreed to donated bottled water and individually wrapped brownies.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to serve our jurisdiction,” said Akron Municipal Court Administrative/Presiding Judge Ron Cable. “We are grateful to The Maynard Family Foundation, J&K Subway, Hartville Potato Chips and Buehler’s for their help in making this event possible.”
The Akron Municipal Court Judges and community volunteers will be handing out the lunches.
