Akron Municipal Court Administrative/Presiding Judge David Hamilton Named to Akron Marathon Board of Directors

Akron Municipal Court Administrative/Presiding Judge David Hamilton has been appointed to the Akron Marathon’s Board of Directors effective February 24, 2026.
The Akron Marathon hosts several races each calendar year that promote active lifestyles for all. The events have created significant contributions to our region both economically and socially.
Judge Hamilton is an avid runner and regularly participates as a runner in the Akron Marathon Race Series events.
He has been a part of the Akron Marathon Race Series’ Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Committee for the past three years and is a co-creator of Solely Responsible, a running group promoting fitness in the black community.
“I am passionate about fitness and sharing how physical health and mental health coincide,” said Judge Hamilton. “I became a runner as an adult and it has enhanced my life. Joining a group of local leaders who are equally as passionate about running is an exciting opportunity.”
Judge Hamilton has been recognized several times for his leadership efforts locally. He was named to Crain’s Cleveland Business “Forty Under 40” list in 2019 and earned the “30 For The Future” award from the Greater Akron Chamber in 2020. In August 2022, he was presented with the Akron Urban League’s “Rising Star” award.
He is a graduate of both Leadership Akron and Leadership Ohio. He was also appointed to the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism in 2023 and serves as a Board Member for Leadership Akron.
Judge Hamilton was elected unanimously by the Akron Municipal Court Judges to fulfill the role of Administrative/Presiding Judge for 2023, 2025 and 2026.
